Many visits to RISE ICE Datacenter during the spring

The spring of 2023 has been hectic with many visits from our current partners, future partners and project consortiums.
The General Assembly meeting of the Wedistrict EU project was held at the Great Fall (Storforsen) with a visit to us to see the fuelcell + liquid cooling datacenter demonstrator. The consortium of this large project was pleased to see the effort put into the demonstrator. We have been operating it for a full year and have now started the de-commissioning.
The partner BP-Castrol with a full team made a visit to see our test cube in action. The project with them was discussed and also the continuation needed. The test cube is designed to keep an ambient environment constant for the ongoing test enabling comparisons between different seasons our indoor temperatures.
A large team from out platinum partner Vertiv visited us as well. A full day of discussions on different topics was rounded off with a dinner at Brandon lodge. The next day all other partners joined for a common workshop where we discussed ancillary services for the grid, liquid cooling at the edge, edge technologies and power2X solutions. The title of the workshop was Data centers meet 5G/6G at the edge. In the evening a visited was made to the Great fall.
During the EU Data week in Luleå we had visits from EU HPC-JU Daniel Opalka and Lilit Axner and from two groups getting guided tours in the facility. Also, NDC-Garbe and GCI visited us during the week. Future possibilities were discussed with all visitors. A visit to see our lab and test riggs usually trigger many new ideas.
