Printed electronics

The increasing digitalisation of products requires electronics, but traditional solutions are limited by rigid printed circuit boards and environmentally damaging materials. Modern applications require thin, flexible systems that can be integrated into a variety of new forms, including smart packaging, biosensors and interactive surfaces. At the same time, the need for bio-based materials and energy-efficient solutions without batteries is being driven by sustainability requirements.

RISE can help you develop printed and organic electronics, from the initial idea to the finished prototype. At Europe's most modern test facility, the Printed Electronics Arena, you will have access to the expertise and equipment needed to prototype and manufacture hybrid systems on a small scale. We offer bio-based materials such as digital cellulose, nanocellulose, and lignin-based electronics; develop electrochromic displays without batteries for your products; and design customised sensors for applications ranging from healthcare systems to smart logistics.
