How can the huge amounts of waste heat from data centers be sensibly harvested and used? This is what the EU-funded “Wedistrict” project deals with. In Luleå, Sweden, the Swedish RISE Institute is building a demo data center with fuel cells as the primary energy source and feeding the waste heat into the district heating network.
