The session was DCDs very first virtual broadcast within the Energy and Sustainability Channel. It covered RISE partner program with focus on sustainability. The title was "Developing circular approaches to data center sustainability from the edge of the arctic circle".
As we journey towards a net-zero future for digital infrastructure, a high-quality testbed environment for the ideation, development, testing and verification of new and sustainable data center technologies is essential to adoption at scale.
This case study provided an overview of the new partnership between Vertiv and Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) as part of a data center testbed for the newest innovations in waste heat, alternative power, thermal management systems and beyond.
It was a conversation between Tor Björn and Piotr. First they covered the RISE partner program where Vertiv is a Platinum member. Tor Björn presented RISE and described the skills and lab resources. Piotr continued with Vertiv focus on sustainability from demands to products. Then Tor Björn talked about a few projects like the Wedistrict project fuel cell powered edge node and the heat re-use pilots performed on vertical farming, green houses and biomass drying. Finally Piotr and Tor Björn finished up with sustainability and LCA as final topics.
