During the video, you’ll gain insights into the HIGHER Project, which aims to develop and validate open-source designs for high-density rack-scale systems capable of supporting cloud and edge services at scale in standards-based data center environments. Starting with the ARM RHEA2 and RISC-V EPAC processors from EPI and the RISC-V EUPilot processor chip, the HIGHER Project adopts the OCP Server family of standards to build processor modules for computation and acceleration, alongside a system security/control module, all operating with fully-featured operating systems and runtimes.

Additionally, you’ll find details about the HEATWISE Project, which seeks to accelerate the integration of data centres into energy grids and buildings. By reutilizing waste heat from data centres, the project contributes to replacements of the boilers in buildings and contribute to the community’s energy sustainability. A state-of-the-art digital twin under development will enhance the efficiency of both data centres and districts, fostering mutually beneficial business opportunities based on alternative heat supply in the future of smart communities.
