Metrology
Measurements form the basis of decisions in all industries, from product development and manufacturing to trade and research. Whether automated control systems are used in the process industry or manual quality checks are performed, the reliability of the measurements affects product quality and operational efficiency. Incorrect measurements can result in products being discarded, extra work being required, unnecessary costs being incurred, and, in some cases, serious consequences for health and safety. Accurate, traceable measurements that meet legal requirements are crucial for competitiveness, product quality, and trust throughout the value chain.
RISE can support you with quality-assured measurement technology throughout the entire measurement chain. The Swedish government has appointed RISE as Sweden's National Metrology Institute. According to the Swedish constitution, RISE is responsible for maintaining quality-assured measurement technology for 32 different physical quantities, which are currently distributed across 14 national measurement sites. We calibrate measuring instruments in all areas of measurement in our laboratories and at our customers' premises. This is supplemented by certification according to international standards (OIML, WELMEC) and the development of new measurement technology for future needs. We ensure that your measurements are of the right quality, even for advanced applications such as AI models, by inventorying instrument parks, assessing requirement levels and optimising measurement processes.
