A successful end to the Greener electronics project

After 22 months of intensive work, the project, which was coordinated and carried out by the research institute RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and co-financed by the European Union, has come to an end. The goal of Greener electronics was to develop and spread new technology, together with other measures aimed at reducing the resource impact from the manufacture, use and recycling of electronics.
The global electronics industry faces significant sustainability challenges, from unsustainable use of natural resources to large energy requirements during the use phase and lack of waste management. This project has played a central role in addressing these challenges by working closely with electronics companies and the industry association Swedish Electronics.
In the project, we worked according to 4 technical goals, where we carried out tests and analyzes to build up knowledge about how the electronics of the future can be created.
The results from the project will form a valuable basis for future initiatives in the electronics industry with a focus on sustainability and reduced environmental impact.
