Jon Summers has been active at the virtual DCD Europe and OCP Tech Week conferences last week

16 November 2020, 10:11

RISE ICE Scientific lead Jon Summers has been very active participating in panel sessions at DCD Europe, the virtual conference for the European data center industry and the OCP Tech Week.

With Europe's Green Deal, considerable emphasis is being put on the role of ICT and digital infrastructure in the collaborative fight to reach important climate change goals by 2030 and beyond.

In the first panel of DCD Europe Jon discussed three H2020 projects currently underway, focused on the use of fuel cells and energy and heat reuse, and debate their real world viability. We participate in two of them.

In the second panel with the challenging title 'Why is Europe so obsessed with heat reuse?' at DCD Europe the panelists discussed how standards, geography and culture impact the operations of datacenters.

During the OCP TECH WEEK Virtual Venue there were a number of sessions in the Advanced Cooling Solutions (ACS) track. One panel discussed Challenges Experienced with Liquid Cooling Deployments. Jon together with other experts had an open discussion to weigh in on challenges and solutions identified.
