Interview with Tor Björn Minde at RISE: "The data center of the future will be more sustainable". By CGI

Digititalization has given us lots of new services as well as new ways to socialize, educate ourselves and work. At the same time as new digital technology has been able to replace everything from printing and communication on paper to climate-impacting work-related travel, however, digitalisation is increasing energy consumption in the ICT industry.
Part of that energy consumption consists of data centers - whether we are talking about cloud services or physical servers. In order to achieve successful digitization, it is crucial that data centers, which form the basis of the digital world, are developed in a sustainable way.
Tor Björn Minde is head of ICE Datacenter at RISE, the leading unit in data center research in Europe, and has a lot of knowledge about what is needed to create the sustainable data centers of the future.
- We actually have excellent conditions right now to put the finishing touches on the continued development of more sustainable data centers, as both states, authorities and companies are very interested in the issue, says Tor Björn Minde.
