Data centers are becoming more and more common worldwide, but their power-intensive operations have raised questions about their sustainability and potential impact on the environment. It is now essential to perform a life cycle analysis (LCA) of data centers to identify and solve the problems.
Why do you need LCA for data centers?
Environmental Impact: LCA provides a comprehensive analysis of the environmental impact, such as carbon footprint, water usage, and other ecological footprints.
Sustainability Goals: LCA helps in the quantification of the organizational scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, thereby facilitating the development of strategies that can meet sustainability targets.
Compliance and Regulation: Governments and regulatory bodies are increasingly imposing environmental regulations and reporting requirements. The European green deal and Eco design directive are all mandating the use of LCA for organizations to track their impact.
