What's happening at NextBioForm

04 December 2023, 15:43

As we approach the new year, we would like to highlight the exciting developments taking place at NextBioForm. Some of our students are beginning to prepare for their upcoming thesis defenses.

First, on February 2nd, Shuai Bai will be taking the center stage to defend his PhD thesis at Lund University. Within the WP2 project, Shuai has focused on investigating the encapsulating matrix of freeze-dried Lactobacillus cultures. The aim is to understand the crucial factors that influence the microbiological viability and probiotic functionality of Lactobacillus strains after preservation and storage using the freeze-drying process, including the formulation of the encapsulating matrix.

Following closely behind is Hans Bolinsson, who is preparing to present and defend his thesis work to receive a licentiate degree. The exact date is yet to be confirmed, but it is planned for early spring at Lund University. Hans' research has primarily been conducted within the WP4 project, with a focus on utilizing the AF4 technique for biological samples.

During the late spring and into the early summer, we anticipate more of our PhD students will defend their work. Stay tuned for our next newsletter to stay updated on the upcoming thesis defenses!
