Greetings fron the Centre director

The field of biologics has been expanding during the last years and in particular in the area of vaccines, including both the novel mRNA vaccines and protein-based vaccines. The awareness of the importance of robust and stable formulations has become clear during the pandemic, where world-wide shipment of sensitive biologics has been accomplished under challenging conditions.
Within NextBioForm we continue to focus on understanding mechanisms behind destabilisation of proteins and live bacterial pharmaceuticals, and how we can improve the stability and functionality of their formulations. Several papers have been published in this area, which you can read about below. Recently NextBioForm was part of commissioning AF4 (asymmetric flow field-flow fraction) coupled to CoSAXS at MAX IV. At the recent consortium meeting the research in the center was iin the focus and the Scientific Advisory Board provided helpful feedback to the projects.
