Welcome Johan – new head of the chemistry group

At Iggesunds Bruk, Johan began his career as a Development and Research Engineer and has, since 2009, held several senior leadership positions within the organisation. He holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Umeå University. His many years of experience in various leadership roles, coupled with his strong research background, provide a solid foundation for his new position.

For several years, Johan has also served as a member of Processum’s interest association and on the company’s board of directors, giving him valuable insight into the organisation and the regional innovation system surrounding biorefineries and the green transition.

“Sometimes everything simply falls into place. The fact that Johan was ready for a new challenge just as we identified the need for a leadership profile that matches him so well feels extremely positive. We now look forward to continuing to develop and strengthen the organisation together,” says Karin Johnson, CEO of RISE Processum AB.

For Johan, the move to RISE Processum AB marks a new chapter, with new contexts and collaborations within the organisation.

“It will be exciting to experience something new, to get closer to research and the academic community, and to get to know new colleagues,” says Johan.

He describes his role as supportive and focused on creating the right conditions for others to succeed.

“My role is to try to be an enabler. I’m not an expert in everything we do, but my mission is to create the best possible conditions for those who are, so that they have every opportunity to do their jobs to the highest standard.”

With a strong focus on empowering his team, Johan is now taking on the task of further developing the work of the chemistry group within RISE Processum AB.
