Biosorbe AB is one of the participants in this year's Forest Business Accelerator programme. The company has developed a biomaterial that can effectively and environmentally friendly absorb hydrocarbons and oil in water, air and soil. This product can replace the plastic and oil based alternatives available today and can also clean where there are no other suitable product alternatives available.
Biosorbe AB is a cleantech company that, in collaboration with KTH, has developed the patented biomaterial Biosorbe. Biosorbe can efficiently and environmentally friendly absorb hydrocarbons and oil in water, air and in the soil. The absorbed oils can be reused, broken down into harmless components or incinerated. The product is the result of a science project at KTH that has been developed and commercialized by Biosorbe AB, with continued collaboration between KTH and Karlstad University.
With their participation in the Forest Business Accelerator, the founders of Biosorbe AB hope to expand their network within the Swedish forest industry.
- We want to accelerate and enter the market. We hope that through the Forest Business Accelerator we will find partners both for our development work and in the work of identifying customers and their needs, says Lars-Erik Sjögren at Biosorbe AB.
Biosorbe AB has previously had contact with Processum and received guidance in the financing of climate innovation, which resulted in a larger grant of financing from Energimyndigheten. Biosorbe AB will continue its collaboration with RISE through Processum and MoRe as well as other parts of the organization.
- It is very nice that Biosorbe AB wants to deepen the collaboration with RISE and Processum so that together we can further develop the company's innovation and drive development towards a sustainable society forward, says Leif Lyckebäck, Innovation and Process Manager at RISE Processum.
