01 September 2022, 12:56

Now the new edition of the Forest Business Accelerator program has started! Together with RISE Processum, BizMaker, SCA, and IBM, 5 startups will work on their business models and aim to reach the market with their new innovations!

Flasheye

The Forest Business Accelerator focuses on innovations that combine forest resources and digitization. The starups has developed sustainable products or services that they now want to bring to market. The program wants to help and guide the participants to develop, validate and test their business idea together with the partner companies.

This year's participants have innovations from new materials from forest raw materials to technology with the goal of making the forest industry's production environments safer.

- It is five very exciting companies with innovative and sustainable solutions with great market potential. It will be interesting to see how we at RISE Processum can support the companies with RISE experts and technical upscaling, as well as with guidance in financing climate innovation, says Leif Lyckebäck, innovation-and process leader at RISE Processum.

One of this year's participants is Flasheye. This company develops smart monitoring and recognition systems that can be used to prevent accidents in industry.

Ida Rehnström from Flasheye is one of the participants. The company develops intelligent monitoring and recognition systems that can be used, among other things, to prevent accidents and incidents in industry.

- We have worked with customers and want to take the next step with sharp projects that create benefits in facilities and for people. We need contacts, companies to collaborate with in product development and above all to validate our solutions on a larger scale to be able to approach more mature commercial solutions, says Ida Rehnström from Flasheye.

A positive development that has taken place is that 3 out of 5 teams are mixed, that is to say that the teams do not only consist of men.

- We see that more and more women are being recruited in the industry, which we notice here as well. It is a trend that we are very happy about, says Pelle Berglund, responsible for the Forest Business Accelerator.

Participants in autumn 2022:

Reselo - Develops a new material from Swedish forest raw material that can replace plastic and rubber.

Flasheye - Works with an intelligent LIDAR system for monitoring in, for example, large industrial environments.

Biosorbe - Works with a new material that can absorb oil up to 10 times its own weight.

Helios Innovation - Stands behind a new technology for desalination of seawater using waste heat from industry.

MicroDri - Have worked out a new way to dry wood with microwaves.
