New EMC chamber under construction in Borås

As vehicles and products become increasingly connected, the demand for secure and independent EMC testing continues to grow. EMC – electromagnetic compatibility – ensures that electronic systems can operate alongside each other without causing interference.

The RISE EMC facility in Borås is the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. The new chamber will be approximately 18 meters long, 15 meters wide and 8.5 meters high. It will further strengthen the capacity for testing vehicles, industrial equipment and advanced electronic systems.

“We are making this investment to meet industry’s growing need for reliable EMC testing environments,” says Monika Fuller, Vice President Vehicle and Automation at RISE.

The chamber is expected to be operational at the end of 2026.
