On May 21, 2025, the team at RISE test facility EMC and Wireless Communication in Borås welcomed a group of engaged students from Chalmers University of Technology.
The students, currently in their third year of the course EEN230 'Electromagnetic Environment, Health and Compatibility,' were given insight into RISE's work in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and wireless communication during the day.
The visit began with a joint lunch, during which representatives from RISE presented the organization and current research projects. After lunch, the students were divided into smaller groups for a guided tour of the EMC laboratories, including visits to test chambers such as Hertz, Fourier MVK, and AWITAR – the largest and most advanced EMC chamber in the Nordics.
“It is highly valuable for the students to see how the theoretical knowledge they acquire at Chalmers relates to practical problems that are dealt with on a daily basis by research institutes and industry,” says Thomas Rylander, Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chalmers.
In the afternoon, the students attended presentations on testing methods, regulations, and standards within both information and communication technology (ICT) and the automotive industry.
The day concluded with a traditional Swedish fika and a review of ongoing research projects in the field.
