Projects connected to the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing

RISE and the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing are involved in a number of projects in the area of additive manufacturing. Below you will find information about: Ongoing projects, finished projects and Student thesis projects.

Ongoing projects

The project will be a catalyst that increases knowledge about additive manufacturing in small and medium-sized companies in the region Västra Götaland.

In order to identify which components are suitable for additive manufacturing (AM), both technical and business selection criteria needs to be used. The purpose of this project is to investigate the possibility of expanding the technical selection criteria with business values such as reduced inventory costs, transport and environmental impact.

The project investigates the robustness of the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process,  with a focus on the integrity of thin walls and narrow channels.

Finished projects

MANUELA is a Horizon 2020 project with the aim to develop and deploy an open access pilot line for metal additive manufacturing, covering the entire value chain.
