Contact ThomasWork-related noise and vibration injuries are common, serious and permanent. They are also largely preventable. We help you measure, understand and address the risks.
One in three approved occupational diseases in Sweden is caused by vibration. The injuries are irreversible and often affect people early in their careers. With the right knowledge and the right tools, most of them can be avoided.
The same applies to noise. Hearing loss develops slowly and without warning, but the damage is permanent. Both vibration and noise can go unnoticed in the moment — which makes them easy to overlook, but no less harmful.
RISE has deep expertise in measurement, standardisation and mitigation across noise and vibration. We run ZeroVibCenter — a national network that brings together end users, machine manufacturers, researchers and authorities around a shared goal: eliminating vibration-related injuries at work.
We understand what measurement results mean in practice — for workplace safety, regulatory compliance and product development.
A new EU machinery regulation comes into force on 1 January 2027, requiring manufacturers to declare transient and shock vibrations before selling within the EU. This raises the bar for measurement expertise and knowledge of standards.
Interpretation and guidance - What do new regulations and standards actually require? We help you understand which values to declare, how to measure them and what it takes to comply.
Measurement and mapping - We measure vibration on machines and in workplaces in accordance with ISO standards, including the new requirements for transient and shock vibrations.
Mitigation and innovation - When measurements show levels that are too high, we help identify and implement solutions that reduce vibration at the source.
Training - We train procurement teams, safety representatives and occupational health professionals in how to understand, measure and manage vibration risks.
