Post-treatment of PFAS contamination and PFAS-free fire extinguishing
The test bed offers evaluation of techniques for post-treatment methods for PFAS in soil and water as well as evaluation of methods and means for PFAS-free fire extinguishing.
There are currently no sustainable methods for processing soil or water, contaminated with PFAS. There is a great need for objective and independent identification and evaluation of various decontamination methods. Identification and evaluation of substitutes for firefighting foams containing PFAS is also necessary, in order to facilitate efficient and sustainable firefighting of complex fires.
The testbed intends to create the conditions for identifying, verifying and validating methods for remediation of PFAS in soil and water as well as evaluation of methods/agents for PFAS-free fire extinguishing.
