Basic course in generative AI for educators

AI offers great opportunities for learning, but also challenges. As an educator, you don't need to know everything, but by exploring and learning more about what generative AI is, you can take advantage of its opportunities and avoid problems and challenges.

About the course

• The course is conducted online, at your school together with your work team. This gives you the best of both worlds: knowledgeable and supportive colleagues to explore AI with AND quality-assured training by and with experts in both education and AI.
• The course consists of six parts that you can complete in half a day or spread out over several sessions. Each part of the course begins with a theoretical section in the form of a film. After each film, you will work together on a practical or theoretical assignment. This may involve testing language models or discussing the impact of generative AI on different parts of the school.
• The course provides a basic understanding of AI and includes prompting and text generation, ethics, law and bias, and image generation.

Time required
It is possible to complete all parts of the course in a total of 3–4 hours. Each part of the course has an approximate time estimate for that particular part.

Requirements
In order to complete this course, you need access to certain services. You need a text generation service, such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, RISE GPT or similar. You also need access to an image generation service, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Midjourney, Stable diffusion, RISE GPT or similar.

The course is intended for schools or school principals, not for individual educators.
