Basic corrosion theory

RISE offers a course in Basic Corrosion Theory for companies. The course is aimed at researchers, engineers, end users, clients, etc. Courses can be given online.

Metallic materials are used everywhere in today's society. Thanks to their high strength combined with good shape and weldability and the fact that they can be recycled infinitely make them excellent as a construction material. However, it is important to take into account how the metals are affected by the environment in which they are used, to choose the appropriate material and corrosion protection.

Target audience

Researchers, engineers, end users, procurement, etc.

Lecturer

Researchers from RISE

Content

Basic corrosion theory

The course deals with basic corrosion theory and corrosion in different environments (atmosphere, water and soil) and with various corrosion protection methods, such as zinc plating, protective painting and cathodic protection.

  • The basics of corrosion
  • Atmospheric corrosion
  • Corrosion in water
  • Corrosion in soil
  • Overview corrosion protection of metals
