Corrosion challenges vary across industries, but many of the underlying questions are shared. Through RISE membership programmes in corrosion, you gain access to current research, test data and insights from real-world applications.

The programmes bring together actors from industry and the public sector to jointly develop knowledge, evaluate solutions and create a stronger basis for material selection, specifications and long-term asset management.

Member Research Consortium (MRC) Automotive Corrosion is a unique international platform where vehicle manufacturers, material and surface treatment suppliers meet to find new solutions to common corrosion challenges.

Hydrogen / Network

Materials in hydrogen environment

The membership program “Materials in hydrogen” is a unique platform for research and development. Here industrial partners and researchers can collaborate to find solutions to common issues from the industry and to support the development within the area of materials used for hydrogen storage and transportation.

MRC Brass Alloy

The brass industry is facing a transition to lead-free alloys. Within the membership program brass alloy, we conduct research with a focus on corrosion, materials and manufacturing technology adapted for the modern lead-free and low-lead brass alloys.

MRC Biorefinery

Based on scientific research, as well as strong collaboration among key players in biorefinery production, including plant operators, material producers, and experts on materials and corrosion, Member Research Consortium (MRC) Corrosion in Biorefinery Production will help its members with corrosion issues.

MRC Oil and Gas

Thanks to the R&D programs within the MRC Oil and Gas its 13 members receive the latest research and knowledge in the field of corrosion in the oil and gas industry. For example, results from experimental programs addressing H2S related corrosion issues.

Seawater is known to be an aggressive media which limits the use of most materials due to corrosion issues. In the MRC Marine Corrosion, we test the limits for materials and corrosion protection.

TheMRC Coil Coated Materials is dedicated to corrosion of coil-coated materials used in building, automotive and appliance industry.

MRC Aerospace

In the MRC Aerospace we study corrosion and corrosion protection of materials used in the aerospace industry. We have a particular focus on designing reproducible, robust corrosion testing for new aluminum alloys and new surface treatments.

Corrosion in combustion plants

Corrosion in combustion plants is a network primarily aimed at companies that own, operate or construct combustion plants. Through research and exchange of experience, problems with corrosion in combustion plants can be minimized.

Corrosion in pulp and paper industry

Materials in the pulp and paper industry (CPPI) are exposed to corrosive environments in almost all applications. The member program Corrosion in pulp and paper industry deals with corrosion challenges within the entire production process.

Surface technology

The member research consortium (MRC) for surface technology is an international forum where we consolidate R&D efforts in the interface between surface technology and corrosion protection. The main goal of this forum is to investigate fundamental questions to solve practical problems.

Corrosion and cathodic protection in soils

Corrosion of buried structures and infrastructure produces large costs for society and companies. RISE has extensive experience in this area and in our member research consortium we conduct research in order to explore and find new solutions to corrosion problems.

In the membership program, we focus on polymeric materials and build relevant data that can be used for safe, reliable and cost-effective use in corrosive environments.
