Webinar: The Right Concrete in the Right Place

Many construction projects use stronger concrete than the structure actually requires, and this has a greater environmental impact than necessary. Join us for a lunchtime webinar where we’ll show how simple changes in material selection can have a significant positive impact on the climate.

Note that this webinar will be held in Swedish.

Concrete is one of the construction industry’s most important materials and one of the most climate-impacting. But its climate footprint doesn’t have to be as large as it often is. A common reason is that the concrete’s strength class is chosen based on habit rather than actual requirements. This leads to unnecessary cement use, and this applies even when climate-optimized concrete is used.

The principle of “The right concrete in the right place” is based on adapting the concrete’s properties to the specific function, exposure environment, and technical requirements of that particular building component. By establishing the right requirements early in the design phase, climate emissions can be significantly reduced in almost all types of construction projects.

Contents

During the webinar, we’ll walk you through how this principle is systematically applied in both design and production, using concrete examples from Swedish construction projects. You’ll gain practical knowledge that you can immediately apply to your own project.

Who is it for?

Anyone interested is welcome to participate. The webinar is particularly aimed at those who in some way influence material selection, requirements, or implementation in construction projects, whether you work as a client, designer, contractor, or in sustainability and procurement.
