Accredited classification of product in accordance with SS-EN 62471 Photobiological safety for lamps and lamp systems

Classification of a lamp or lamp system in accordance with SS-EN 62471 means that the lamp is tested and assigned a risk group which indicates what risk the lamp might pose to the user or others affected by the light. 

In order for a product to be marketed it is required that the product is safe. SS-EN 62471 is one of the standards that lamps and lamp systems need to comply with in order to be considered safe. 

The classification is performed in accorance with applicable parts of method 4432 which is based on IEC SS-EN 62471.

The results are presented in a digital report in english which indicates that the testing is accredited.

RISE is also a CB Test Laboratory for IECEE and can upon request issue an IECEE-report for the test which can then be certified by IECEE through Intertek Semko. 

IEC SS-EN 62471 Photobiological safety for lamps and lamp systems

Allergy to nickel is the most common form of contact allergy. The symptoms usually occur when you are in contact with objects that emit nickel.

Products to be tested for nickel emission in accordance with EN 1811 are immersed in a synthetic sweat solution in a sealed container for one week. The temperature is kept at a constant 30° C. Analysis is performed after one week. The results show the amount of nickel leached from the sample.

The EN 12472 test is intended for objects with surface coatings. First, the sample is subjected to wear and corrosion equivalent to two years of daily use. Following that, the sample is treated as per EN 1811.

Products tested using the above methods are watches, clothing buckles, garment buttons, hairpins, metal components for eyeglasses, jewellery, handles, etc.

Reference test method for release of nickel from all post assemblies which are inserted into pierced parts of the human body and articles intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin; SS-EN 1811.

Method for the simulation of wear and corrosion for the detection of nickel release from coated items; SS-EN 12472.

You receive results such as opacity in % at 20 m²/l, opacity in % at 8 m²/l, spreading rate at 98% opacity, density and non-volatile matter.

Regarding washability, dry film loss in µm is noted according to EN 13300.

RISE can conduct independent investigations, evaluations and, if necessary, limited field measurements of the ventilation function in different types of buildings. Ventilation function in the form of air flows, air quality and thermal comfort, as well as heat recovery and electrical efficiency.

As an independent part assist users and/or property owner in investigating, evaluating and, if necessary, making limited field measurements of the ventilation function in their buildings, usually in connections with them being uncertain or having complaints about the ventilation function. RISE does not carry out adjustments or routine ventilation checks, such as OVK, but refers such assignments to consultants who routinely perform this type of service.

Through RISE's accumulated and long-standing experience in the ventilation area (theoretical/academic as well as from laboratory tests and field assignments) we have a broad and deep knowledge of how ventilation systems work and what can be wrong and cause problems.

Many problems with indoor environment and/or high energy use are due to faults and deficiencies in the function of ventilation. There may be errors in the design as well as during the installation or in the operation and control of the system.

 Many times, users or operating staff have not received enough information and knowledge about how the system works and how it should be managed. 

The customer's need is identified via telephone and/or e-mail. Then an indication of price and delivery time is first given. If the customer is still interested, we may request additional documentation in the form of drawings, protocols, etc. before we write a formal quote. Since a fixed price is often difficult to give, the work is usually offered on a current hourly rate up to a maximum price. 

If the quotation is accepted, a time for ocular inspection and eventual measurements is then determined in consultation with the customer. Often, an ocular examination is enough to give a statement on the function of the ventilation and any suggestions for measures. In some cases, more detailed measurements may need to be performed, either by RISE or by another actor.

Usually, the customer receives a report that describes the background, implementation and results. For shorter projects, simplified reporting can be done via e-mail, possibly with attachments in the form of pictures, tables and/or diagrams.

 Depending on already planned assignments, project start-up time can normally vary between 1 - 4 weeks. Depending on the scope of the project and possible need for measurements, implementation can take anywhere from a few days to several months. In the latter case, of course, not full time.

Factors that affect delivery time are coordination with other actors, e.g. sub-consultants, or that certain measurements require a certain outdoor climate or a certain internal load.

Price on request for quotation. Usually on a current hourly rate up to a maximum price which can be increased after agreement with the customer.

Preparations are normally required in the form of coordination with other assignments, contacts with customers and other actors, review of documentation, find the appropriate date for on-site inspection, book any measuring equipment and means of transport.

Food safety management systems ISO 22000 

We offer our clients a possibility for specialized fire tests of vehicle components and vehicles with heat radiation measurement and flue gas analysis if desired.   

We offer indoor fire testing in our fire test halls and provides the opportunity for our clients to measure e.g. heat release rate, heat radiation and to perform flue gas analysis. Working with an environmental awareness we use an advanced cleaning system for both water and smoke from the fire test.       

Using our facilities, the client can perform product evaluations of vehicle components and complete vehicles regarding the subject of fire. The client can verify requirements according to internal standards using unique corporate test codes or perform fire testing according to accredited standard. We provide a possibility for our clients to perform heat measurements and analysis by use of infrared cameras. Working indoors being protected from the elements we have a high repeatability in our fire tests. 

Fire tests are performed indoors in one of our fire test halls where we test fuel tanks according to UN R34, fuel hoses according to ISO 7840 and battery pack according to UN R100, also battery cells and battery modules can be tested. Fire tests can also be performed on complete vehicles with the possibility of adding surrounding structures such as walls and a roof if desired.

After the fire tests has been performed a test report is written in English and sent to the client. Photo documentation is given to the client.

ISO 7840 

Food contact safety is an issue of very high concern for all kinds of materials and products. Our core activity in this area is analysis of materials intended for food contact (FCM).

We offer testing in compliance with regulations or requirements (e.g. EU Commission Regulation 10/2011, national recommendations such as BfR XXXVI, FDA or industry guidelines).

When the composition (recipe) of the material or sample is unknown, the screening analysis gives information about the migrating components. It is also a good tool for detection of non-intentionally added substances (NIAS).

The material or product is exposed to a food simulant, MPPO (Tenax®), ethanol or acetic acid, at relevant conditions. The migrating compounds are analysed by GC/MS.

The results are compiled in an analytical report.
