SQAS Assessment

SQAS is an internationally recognized system for assessing safety, environmental performance, health, quality, and social responsibility across the logistics chain. For your company, an SQAS assessment signals high quality, strengthens customer trust, and demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement across the supply chain.

The benefits of an SQAS assessment

SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) is an international assessment system developed by Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council. An SQAS assessment ensures that you, as a logistics provider or chemical distributor, meet high standards of safety, environmental protection, health, quality, and social responsibility.

You will receive:

  • Increased safety – risks associated with the transport, storage, and handling of chemicals are identified and managed.
  • Environmental protection – processes are reviewed to minimize environmental impact.
  • Quality assurance – a clear quality mark that demonstrates systematic improvement work.
  • Health and work environment – procedures are checked to protect employees and create safety.
  • Social responsibility – the company demonstrates responsibility for sustainability and ethics in the supply chain.

The results of the assessment are compiled in a report that highlights both strengths and areas for improvement. The report can be used for your internal improvement work and to give customers a clear picture of your current level and the improvements you plan to implement.

The assessment process

  1. The company fills out a PAD (PreAssessment Document) on the SQAS website www.SQAS.org. The information is used to calculate the scope of the assessment.
  2. The PAD is sent to an SQAS auditor who prepares a quote based on the scope.
  3. At the agreed time, the audit is carried out on site at the company.
  4. During the audit, the company answers a comprehensive questionnaire with between approximately 300 and 900 standardized questions, adapted to the business.
  5. The results are compiled in a report that is published on the SQAS platform.
  6. The assessment is repeated every three years.
