Method lab

The Method Lab is a space dedicated to methods, working practices and inspiration for anyone wishing to develop ideas in collaboration with users. The content is aimed at everyone from small and large businesses to the public sector and civil society – in short, anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of how solutions can be created based on people’s real needs.

What is the difference between a good idea and something that actually works in practice?

It often comes down to how early on the people who will be using a service, product or environment are involved in shaping its development. When we gather insights through interviews, observations and needs analyses, the picture of people’s reality becomes much clearer. This also makes it possible to spot things that are otherwise easily overlooked – small details, habits and needs that can have a really significant impact on how something will work in practice. By creating prototypes and testing them, ideas can be tried out early on, before they have become too finalised. This makes it possible to learn as you go, adjust the direction and, step by step, develop something that stands the test of time.

The Method Lab brings together methods, working practices and experiences, along with examples from development processes where people’s perspectives are the starting point. Here you’ll find inspiration and practical tools for anyone who wants to move from initial idea to a working result.
