Seminar: Is your surface really clean?

On 23 April, we welcome you to RISE in Stockholm for the seminar “Is Your Surface Really Clean?”. Together with Cromocol Academy and KRÜSS Scientific, we highlight how surface cleanliness influences adhesion, coating quality and reliable production.

Throughout the day, you will explore methods that enable you to detect contamination that is invisible to the naked eye, assess surface energy and reliably verify cleaning processes and surface preparation.

The seminar is aimed at professionals working with coatings, adhesives, detergents, electronics, plastics or advanced materials. Through practical examples and research-based insights, we demonstrate how to measure, analyse and control surface cleanliness in both research and production environments.

We look forward to meeting you and exploring solutions that strengthen quality, sustainability and reliability in future material processes.

The agenda

  • Understanding surface cleanliness

How invisible contamination affects wetting, adhesion and product performance.

  • Measuring surface energy and wettability

Using contact angle measurements to quantify surface free energy and detect contamination.

  • Detecting oils, surfactants and process residues

How different contaminants influence contact angles and surface behaviour.

  • Quality assurance of surface preparation and cleaning agents

Fast and reliable measurement methods for production environments.

  • Evaluating surface treatments

Analysis of plasma, corona, flame and cleaning processes.

  • Beyond test inks

Why modern surface energy analysis provides deeper insights than traditional methods.

  • Q&A and live demonstrations of instruments from KRÜSS and the RISE laboratory.
