Contact BirgitRISE is developing the digital tool Event & Climate, making it more user-friendly and credible through verified climate data and the development of business models.
The digital tool Event & Climate was originally developed as part of the Vinnova-funded project Solutions for Climate-Smart Events.
The project was carried out together with a large group of partners consisting of companies and organizations in the private sector, the public sector, and civil society. The main implementers were RISE, which coordinated the project, the University of Gothenburg, the West Sweden Tourist Board, Business Region Göteborg, Göteborg & Co, and Got Event.
GU coordinates the VGR-funded follow-up project and disseminates the tool within the sports and events industry. RISE is helping to further develop the user-friendliness and credibility of climate calculations and business models for the tool.
The tool has four main functions: calculations, checklists, climate pledges/policy, and a climate library.
Event & Climate handles climate emissions in the following areas: accommodation, passenger transport, freight transport, food, energy, product purchasing, and waste.
The methodology report contains documentation of data collection carried out by RISE experts in the various emission areas and includes assumptions and system boundaries for the different types of climate data used in the tool.
There is a website (event klimat) where the tool can be tested and where you can find RISE's methodology report for version 1.0 of Event & Climate.
