Welcome to the presentation of the projects Dropwise - Small Behavioral Changes, Big Impact and Methods for Achieving Sustainable Water Use.
During this webinar, we will share lessons learned and results from both the Dropwise and Methods for Achieving Sustainable Water Use projects. These projects, which each address behavioral change to achieve more efficient water use, have been ongoing for a year (starting in October 2026), and we now want to share our insights!
Both projects are part of Water Wise Societies, a national innovation program aimed at creating sustainable water systems for the future. The projects are funded under the Impact Innovation initiative—Acceptance and Behavioral Change.
Dropwise - small Behavioural Changes, Big Impact
Droppvis aims to develop and test scalable ways to reduce household water use through behavior-based communication efforts (nudging) and data from digital water meters. This is being carried out through a case study in Norrtälje and an analysis of historical water usage data in two additional Norrvatten municipalities. The project addresses the challenge of water scarcity in Swedish municipalities and the need for more sustainable and resource-efficient water use.
Methods for Achieving Sustainable Water Use
The project aims to address challenges related to water scarcity in Swedish municipalities, particularly in areas with sensitive water sources. The project will develop and test innovative, research-based methods that lead to behavioral changes, acceptance, and engagement among users. The overall goal is to reduce water consumption in areas with seasonal variations and sensitive water resources.
