Carl‑Magnus leads the Building and Real Estate department within the division of Built Environment and is driven by a commitment to advancing a more sustainable and innovative construction sector. With experience as a researcher and group manager at RISE, and previous roles as a development engineer and project manager in the building materials industry, he has a broad understanding of technology, people, and the challenges facing the industry.
He holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Structural Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, complemented by studies at the University of Cape Town and a PhD in Building Technology from Chalmers.
One of his strongest commitments is supporting the construction industry’s transition toward sustainable building practices. He is also actively engaged in how AI and digitalisation can strengthen the sector’s development and enable smarter, more resource‑efficient solutions.
