Welcome to Stockholm on 25–26 May 2027, when the automotive corrosion community gathers for the 9th International Seminar in the Field of Automotive Corrosion – a central meeting place for discussing the latest developments and shared challenges in automotive corrosion.
For over two decades, the seminar has brought together representatives from across the automotive value chain and from all over the world. The programme features presentations by lecturers from Volvo Cars, Toyota Motor Europe, Aluminium Duffel, NOF Metal Coatings, Dörken Coatings, Provexa, Daimler Truck, UACJ and DTU, as well as from RISE and FCI, French Corrosion Institute.
Two themes run through the seminar's presentations:
The seminar targets a broad audience within the automotive sector working with corrosion protection, materials development and durability assessment – from OEMs and suppliers to R&D specialists, corrosion researchers and materials experts. It provides a valuable forum for exchanging knowledge, discussing common challenges, and aligning industrial and research perspectives in automotive corrosion.
The programme includes presentations by lecturers from Volvo Cars, Toyota Motor Europe, Aluminium Duffel, NOF Metal Coatings, Dörken Coatings, Provexa, Daimler Truck, UACJ and DTU, as well as from RISE, Research Institutes of Sweden, and FCI, French Corrosion Institute.
The full programme will be published in spring 2027.
First held in Stockholm in 2000, the seminar has since travelled to Detroit (2018) and returned to Stockholm in 2022, gathering over 60 participants from Europe, the Americas and Asia. The 2027 seminar is promoted by the European Federation for Corrosion (EFC).
The seminar offers open discussions about the corrosion challenges shared across the automotive industry. With presentations from both industry and research institutes, the programme provides a broad overview of the field, with plenty of time for questions and informal conversations with key industrial stakeholders.
The one-and-a-half-day seminar takes place in the welcoming setting of Villa Källhagen in central Stockholm, with a joint dinner on the evening of the first day. The number of participants is limited to 80.
