RISE is an accredited inspection body for household electricity meters (category 1 energy measurement systems).

As an independent accredited inspection body, RISE participates in the Swedish National Cluster Sampling of Electricity Meters. We inspect electricity meters of category 1 in accordance with the national accreditation body Swedac's regulation STAFS 2022:9. An electricity meter measures the electrical energy delivered to households by electricity suppliers via grids owned by electricity grid companies. The electricity meters are owned and operated by the electricity grid companies and, according to Swedac's regulations, they may be tested on a random basis by accredited inspection bodies. Through this, the industry ensures that the electricity meter's error stays within the desired limits. The inspection takes place by adding voltages and currents that correspond to different power levels and comparing the measured energy with added energy.

We perform our services in accordance with the ISO 17020 quality standard and are monitored by Swedac.

We issue accredited control reports and can assist with the reporting of results to the national cluster sampling.

RISE manages the control system for electricity meters (ELSA), i.e. cluster sampling tests and reporting of faulty electricity meters, on behalf of Energiföretagen Sverige, the industry organization for Sweden's electricity grid companies.

ELSA is part of the service that Energiföretagen Sverige offers within the framework of the Swedish National Cluster Sampling of Electricity Meters. With the ELSA system, you can register and follow up the quality assurance of household electricity meters

Virtually all household electricity meters in Sweden are registered in ELSA. The information about the electricity meters in the database is used to select a number of electricity meters for control in a nationwide random survey. The selected meters are checked by control bodies approved by Swedac. The results of the surveys are used to approve batches of electricity meters for six years at a time, which can then be used by customers until a cluster sampling shows that the authorities' requirements for function and measurement accuracy are no longer met.

Qualified damage investigations and condition assessments of buildings and facilities are valuable in many contexts, for example in maintenance planning, repair assessments needs in case of damage, valuations, etc.

RISE assessors have a very long and broad experience of inspections and condition assessments of various concrete structures, masonries and mortars. We assess, among other things, damage caused by reinforcement corrosion, freeze thaw, fire, moisture and alkali silica reactions (ASR). In addition, we inspect structures that are suspected to contain aluminate cement.

Damage assessments and condition assessments are carried out with the help of visual inspections, non-destructive testing (Ground Penetrating Radar, ultrasound and cover layer measurements), sampling, laboratory testing with advanced equipment and microscopic analysis of cement-based materials to determine composition, quality control and cause of damage. The laboratory tests are supplemented if necessary with photography and examination of samples taken.

In all damage assessments it is important that the cause(s) are investigated and charted in a relevant way.

The assignments often also include the design of tender documentation, evaluation of tenders, contract with contractor, construction management and technical control including control responsibility according to the Swedish law PBL (KA = Kontrollansvarig in Swedish).

We also carry out calculations of the remaining service lifetime of buildings / facilities based on, for instance, damage assessments.

Precious metals jewelry /article weighing 1 gram or more shall be marked with a mark that indicates the fineness content. In addition, either a hallmark from our Assay office (the “kattfot”) or a registered responsibility mark is required.

• With “Kattfoten”, we, as an accredited independent notified body, take responsibility for the specified fineness being correct.

Equipment inspections are important in order to be able to plan for future maintenance and investments. We have experience of inspecting stacks in glass fibre reinforced plastics, tanks and pipelines in various plastic materials, scrubbers and other plastic process equipment, in materials like PE, PP, PVC and glass fiber reinforced plastics.

The purpose of doing an inspection is to allow the customer to know more about the status of their equipment. Are there any warning signs such as major defects or damage to the equipment? How long will the equipment last if it is subjected to the same operating conditions as now? Should the equipment be replaced with new or renovated in the near future? Does the equipment pose a hazard to the safety of the site? There are many questions that an inspection can provide the answers to.

We recommend conducting inspections at regular intervals in order to have ongoing control over the status of the equipment and this makes it easier to plan for any downtime, renovations or equipment replacements.

During an inspection we come out to you and the equipment in question. We carry out the inspection ourselves or together with you on site. Depending on what is being inspected, we use different methods where our best tool is visual assessment where it is preferable to compare with previous inspections to see developments over time. Also ultrasonic and moisture metering are important tools.

After completion of the inspection, a report is written with results from the inspection and recommendations on future maintenance.

Before an inspection it is required that personnel from us can work safely during the inspection, therefore, the customer in liaison with us shall agree on all safety procedures and protective equipment required on site. In order for the inspection to provide as much as possible, it is important that we find out all the background facts about the equipment to be inspected, materials, operating conditions, how long the equipment has been in operation and if there have been any changes during the operating time, etc.

Accredited tests for mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of aggregates and filler for road-, asphalt-, mortar- and concrete purposes according to EN 12620, EN 13043 and EN 13139. We also perform audit inspections in the above-mentioned areas with the Construction Products Regulation, CPR. RISE is a notified body in the area.

Aggregates as above is included in system AVCP 2+ according to the Construction Product Regulation (CPR) which means type testing, auto control and external audit inspection for the manufacturer.

The results of the test and audit inspection consume, among other things, the basis for customers' CE marking against EN 12620, EN 13043 and EN 13139. This may be, for example, type testing or the manufacturer's auto control.

Tests that we perform are usually accredited, but we also perform tests according to methods that are not covered by our accreditation. At present, we can perform about 20 accredited methods in the ballast area.

We can also perform sample preparation and testing of rock samples or drill cores from new intended quarries.

Used to create moisture-proof constructions and to stop emissions from reaching the indoor environment. We work on evaluating the function of these constructions in connection with damage investigations, inspections and quality assurance during new installation, verification of system solutions in connection with certification and follow-ups.

The purpose of a function control can be, for example, inventory / function mapping of installations or follow-up control of certified systems to assess the system's function. Function testing can also be a subset of damage investigation of buildings with moisture problems.

 

The functional test of the mechanically ventilated design ensures that the system works in the intended way and that moisture and emissions from underlying construction do not spread to the indoor environment.

A functional test can be performed at different stages:

1. During construction to ensure that the installation is carried out correctly and give the installer a chance to verify that the system is airtight before the flooring / surface layer is completed so that any leaks can be corrected as early as possible.
    
2. During the use phase to verify that the installation works as it should and has not been compromised by changes in general ventilation, refurbishing of adjacent building parts, dirt or other operational disturbance.

The accredited SP methods 1630-1634 cover a range of test methods for evaluating the function in mechanically ventilated gaps, which include, for example, control of airflow direction, pressure difference between the ventilated gap and the indoor environment, airtightness and tracer gas measurement to study air movements.

In addition to these measurements, an indication measurement of the airflow in the exhaust air duct and pressure drop over the building envelope is normally included. When monitoring the certified systems, an assessment is also made of the installed system's compliance with the design documentation.

Within RISE there is competence to evaluate and quality-assure the production process, carry out damage investigations and lead and participate in development and innovation projects in the field of glass.

In order to be able to deliver a product with consistent and high quality, careful monitoring of the production is required.

For many products, it is up to the manufacturer to establish and maintain a system for self-monitoring to ensure the quality.

A prerequisite for achieving good results and applying a working method that strives for continuous improvement is that the quality thinking permeates the entire organization, from those who work in the production line and all the way up to the management, and that the quality department is not a unit that is decoupled from other activities.

By using a third party who regularly reviews the self-monitoring system, the manufacturer can achieve several things:
• The company management states that the quality of the products is of the highest priority
• Examination performed by an external party can call attention to deficiencies in the system for self-control that may have been overlooked for a long time and so-called "home blindness" can thus be counteracted.
• Support for the manufacturer's quality manager, whose work can gain greater legitimacy and acceptance in their own organization through the deviations presented in the audit report
• Ensure that you comply with applicable product standards and are updated on any additions, corrections or new releases of the standards

The audits are carried out with a practical way of working, where compliance with the own quality system and requirements in the product standards is examined on site at the production lines and involves representatives from different parts of the organization.

Applicable standards used in the audits are EN 12150-2, EN 14449 and EN 1863-2.

The results are reported in an audit report and the manufacturer undertakes to rectify any deviations within an agreed time
