Contact BoelInnoMatSyn supports the coordination and mobilisation of stakeholders in innovative advanced materials at national and regional level, promoting synergy and complementarity. It builds on existing regional smart specialisations to strengthen cooperation within Europe.
The InnoMatSyn project (“Innovative Materials Ecosystem to Gain Synergies of regional, national and EU Initiatives”) is a newly launched, EU-funded project that brings together experts in advanced and innovative materials (AdMa) from across Europe. It is coordinated by BioNanoNet Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (BNN) and involves 14 partner organisations from 10 different countries. The aim is to create synergies between regional, national and European initiatives in the AdMa area to strengthen the development of safe and sustainable materials. The project has been awarded €4 million from the European Commission and will run for three years.
InnoMatSyn will build an interconnected European ecosystem for materials research, develop an AI-based knowledge repository, develop guidelines for risk assessment of technology leakage and support joint funding initiatives. The project will also improve knowledge transfer and collaboration between different actors by identifying competences, project results, publications and other resources in the field.
The goal is to establish a sustainable European R&I ecosystem for advanced materials. The consortium includes broad expertise in areas such as networking, governance, standardization, AI, smart specialization and strategic development. The project has already received strong support from stakeholders across Europe, and an official website will be launched in June 2025. Interested parties can follow InnoMatSyn on LinkedIn for updates and engagement in the AdMa ecosystem.
