Cybersecurity for municipalities – joint effort for management and IT

At a time when municipal digital services are crucial to residents' safety and welfare, strong cyber security capabilities are more important than ever. RISE offers experience-based training that brings together decision-makers and IT staff to build consensus, mutual understanding and strengthen the municipality's resilience to cyber attacks.

About the programme

The training is conducted in Cyber Range – a secure and advanced training environment where participants can practise responding to realistic cyber incidents. Through role-based exercises, both management and IT staff can practise working together during a cyber attack. The focus is on understanding each other's roles and responsibilities in accordance with the Cybersecurity Act and NIS2, making quick and well-informed decisions, and ensuring high availability in the municipality's digital infrastructure.

Target group:

  • Municipal management teams
  • IT managers and IT security officers
  • Administrative managers and other key figures in digitalisation and societal preparedness

Course objectives:

  • Build consensus between technology and management on cyber security
  • Understanding of basic concepts and principles in cyber security
  • Training in decision-making during cyber attacks
  • Ability to act in a coordinated manner in the event of incidents
  • Insight into how NIS2 affects municipal responsibility and preparedness
