The project Testbed for Future Production of Lightweight Products Using Smart Material Solutions will provide a test and demonstration facility that includes advanced materials, manufacture and circularity.
Today’s, and tomorrow’s, products will be subject to increasing demands; lower weight, longer working life and improved materials utilisation will all be prerequisites for sustainable development and increased competitiveness.
The purpose of the testbed is to develop and evaluate manufacturing methods and material properties for lighter products, not simply based on individual materials, production methods or recycling technologies but with the emphasis on holistic solutions with sustainable lifecycles.
The testbed will consist of two main components:
ABB Composites, Scandinavian Enviro Systems, Lamera, EBP, Gestamp Hardtech, PODCOMP, Safeman, Scandinavian Scalable Advanced Composites AB, GKN Aerospace, Scania, Volvo Cars, Techtank Olofström, Jernkontoret, KTH Royal Institute of Technology , Luleå University of Technology, Blekinge Institute of Technology, AP&T SWEDEN AKTIEBOLAG, COREBON AB, Ionbond Sweden AB, LASERTOOL I BLEKINGE AB, Lund University, NILS MALMGREN AKTIEBOLAG, SSAB EMEA AB, SWEDFOAM DEVELOPMENT AB
