Report from RISE: AI brings opportunities and risks in cybersecurity

Developments in computing power, access to vast amounts of information and new algorithms have contributed to major breakthroughs in artificial intelligence in recent years. AI's ability to quickly and accurately process large amounts of data also makes it a valuable tool in the field of cybersecurity. The potential of AI is not limited to cybersecurity experts - attackers have access to similar tools and technologies to create automated, customisable and effective AI-driven cyberattacks.

About the Centre for Cyber Security

The Centre for Cyber Security at RISE strengthens applied research and competence development in cyber security in Sweden. RISE is an independent, state-owned research institute. The centre creates a neutral national platform that supports industry and the public sector through expert support, research partnerships, innovation management and testing and demonstration opportunities. A collaboration with RISE means access to a large network of interdisciplinary teams with both broad domain expertise as well as deep cybersecurity expertise. We can offer support in different application levels of cyber security - from research and development, certification, education/training to system testing in controlled virtual environments.
