The aim of ROAR – Resource efficient and resilient recirculation of products and components - is to support manufacturing companies to become more resource-efficient and resilient through recirculation of products and components.
Manufacturing industry is today challenged to become more sustainable by reducing their emissions to reach Net Zero. Within ROAR we will study how recirculation of products and components through circular strategies such as repairs and remanufacturing can be achieved in a resource-efficient manner by improving the circular activities that extend the product lifetime. In ROAR we will seek improvements in manufacturing companies’ business strategies, information management & traceability, and product design.
At the end of the ROAR project Swedish manufacturing industry will have achieved an increased competitiveness and a higher competence of how to perform recirculation of products and components leading to more resource efficiency and resilience.
ROAR overall project goals:
#1: Assess at least three industrial cases of recirculation of products and/or components with proven increased resource efficiency
#2: Present results of how manufacturing companies can improve their recirculation processes and activities from business strategy, information management & traceability and product design perspectives
#3: Develop an education module based on results and success stories from the ROAR project
