RISE survey: Many want to go with PFA-free ski wax

Many competitors at Vasaloppet would gladly go with PFAS-free ski wax if they only knew that everyone else did. This shows a survey done by RISE in collaboration with other actors within the POPFREE Project.
The purpose of the survey was to investigate people’s experience of ski waxes and waxing, and to gauge awareness of fluorine-free waxes.
- The survey we did among skiers at Vasaloppet showed us that there are good conditions for creating change. Many want to contribute to a better environment and reduced health risks. In the spring, we will do a larger study focusing on elite skiers and their team. Our goal is to create glides that can completely replace fluoride-based glides, even at the ultimate elite level, says Lisa Skedung, researcher within the POPFREE Project.
