Johan Olausson

I have over 14 years of experience integrating sustainability into business strategies and value chains, with a particular focus on biodiversity, nature-positive transformation and sustainable supply chains.

At RISE, I lead projects that help companies and organisations translate sustainability ambitions and emerging knowledge needs into concrete strategies, ways of working and business opportunities. My work includes analysing companies’ impacts and dependencies on nature, value chain and risk assessments, developing targets and KPIs, and shaping biodiversity strategies and regenerative food systems. I also work on innovation and the development of new methods and decision-support tools in collaboration with companies and researchers.

I have experience in putting frameworks and regulations such as TNFD, SBTN, CSRD and EUDR into practice, as well as developing certification strategies and requirements for sustainable value chains, including ISO 17298 for biodiversity, FSC, ISCC, Bonsucro and RSB. This also includes supplier requirements, traceability, spend analysis, risk assessments and indicators that help companies set priorities and put their ambitions into practice.

My experience spans the food and agriculture sectors, packaging and paper, forestry, mining, and plastics and biomaterials. By combining strategic sustainability work with research, innovation and industry experience, I aim to make nature a relevant part of business decision-making and help drive a transition that delivers meaningful environmental benefits while making business sense.
