OEKO-TEX® certifications for textile and leather
Customers, buyers and legislators are placing ever higher demands on documented sustainability – what products contain, how they are manufactured and under what conditions. OEKO-TEX® certification provides transparency throughout the supply chain for textile and leather companies and is an internationally recognised way to build trust in your sustainability claims. RISE is the official OEKO-TEX® institute for Sweden and Norway, and also certifies businesses in Finland and the Baltic countries.
Our OEKO-TEX® certifications
We offer certification against five OEKO-TEX® standards and one product label (OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN).
OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT
Chemicals, mixtures and auxiliaries are verified against defined safety criteria at the supplier – before they reach production.
OEKO-TEX® ORGANIC COTTON
Certifies organic cotton from cultivation to finished product. Unlike many other systems, the standard requires laboratory-based GMO testing of the physical fibre – documentation alone is not sufficient.
OEKO-TEX® STeP
Certifies manufacturing facilities in the textile and leather industry against environmental and social requirements – for example wastewater management, chemical handling, energy use and working conditions.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
Tests every component of a finished textile product – fibres, threads and accessories – against more than 1,000 harmful substances. Extensions are available for personal protective equipment and specialist articles, with adjusted limit values tailored to how the products are used.
OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD
Tests leather goods and leather materials against harmful substances, in the same way that STANDARD 100 does for textiles.
OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN (product and material label)
A label for finished products and materials where the article is certified according to STANDARD 100 and manufacturing takes place at STeP-certified facilities. The label includes a scannable ID giving consumers visibility into the supply chain.
Tools for certified companies
As a certified company, you can take advantage of additional tools from OEKO-TEX® – to manage your certificates and gain visibility in the right places.
OEKO-TEX® Buying Guide
A platform where certified companies can showcase their products and find certified suppliers, brands and manufacturers.
myOEKO-TEX®
A portal for managing all your OEKO-TEX® certificates and products.
