OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is a label for finished products and materials in the textile and leather industry, showing that the product has been tested for harmful substances and manufactured under environmentally and socially responsible conditions. As an official OEKO-TEX® institute, we help you take the steps required to use the label.

What is OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN?

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is not a standalone certification but a labelling system that brings together the results of two other OEKO-TEX® certifications – STANDARD 100 and STeP. The label is aimed at brands and retailers that want to communicate documented sustainability directly to the consumer.

The label includes a unique, scannable ID that allows the consumer to trace where and under what conditions the product was made – step by step through the supply chain.

At a glance:

  • Requires STANDARD 100 certification of the product
  • Requires STeP certification of the manufacturing facilities in the supply chain
  • Includes a scannable ID with traceability
  • Applies to textiles, leather products and accessories

Who is OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN for?

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is relevant for:

  • Brands and retailers who want to communicate responsible production to consumers
  • Manufacturers of textiles, clothing, home textiles and leather products
  • Companies that already hold STANDARD 100 and STeP and want to take the next step

Benefits of OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN

  • Communicates verified sustainability directly to consumers
  • Provides transparency about where and how the product was manufactured
  • Strengthens brand credibility on sustainability
  • Enables supply chain traceability via scannable ID

How it works

MADE IN GREEN requires two conditions to already be in place:

  • The product is certified according to STANDARD 100 – or LEATHER STANDARD for leather products
  • Manufacturing takes place at STeP-certified facilities throughout the supply chain
