RISE presents the results from the WECOS research project on how changing waste flows and new technologies affect combined heat and power production and carbon emissions, exploring impacts on the future circular waste and energy system.
Welcome to a final seminar on the future of the waste and energy system in Helsingborg!
RISE invites you to a webinar where we will present the results from the research project WECOS – Waste-to-Energy in Sweden’s Circular Economy – Collaborative system dynamics modelling. Together with the Helsingborg’s municipality, Öresundskraft, Näringslivets producentansvar, and NSR, we have explored the effects of changing waste flows (driven by behavioural change or legislation) and technological shifts (such as CCS and heat pumps) on combined heat and power production from waste incineration and its carbon emissions.
Within the project, we have developed a simulation model that makes it possible to study various future scenarios for waste management, and energy supply in Helsingborg. This webinar offers a chance to learn about these insights as we present selected future scenarios and discuss their implications.
This will be the final webinar within WECOS, which concludes in May – so take the opportunity to hear about the results and ask us your questions!
