Future Sustainable Soils and Growing Media - 2026 Annual conference

How can we create sustainable soils and growing media for the plant environments of the future? What alternatives are available to peat and sand, and how do new raw materials affect soil properties, performance and carbon footprint? What does this development mean for those involved in producing, designing, procuring or managing green spaces?

At the 2026 annual conference of Sveriges Jordproducenter, focusing on sustainable soils and growing media, soil producers, researchers, municipalities, clients, consultants, contractors and property managers will come together to discuss some of the most pressing issues shaping the future of the sector.

The conference will focus on the transition towards more sustainable and circular soils and growing media, with particular emphasis on peat-free solutions, circular materials and the reduced use of virgin resources.

In addition to presentations, participants will have opportunities to network, discuss future challenges in smaller groups and exchange experience and knowledge concerning materials, methods and practical solutions.

The aim is to create a meeting place where knowledge, experience and new ideas can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient soil and growing media sector.
