Eco-friendly printing technology for future electronics
Materials such as paper, plastic or leather can be equipped with electronic functions. Car interiors can be simplified with touch functions, printed sensors in construction materials can detect moisture, and printed biosensors can communicate in and with people’s bodies. New forms can be achieved with flexible and eco-friendly components and substrates, which also influence design and affect logistics flows and production processes.
Printed electronics constitute a facilitative technology and RISE helps customers to progress from idea to prototype. RISE runs the test and demo facility, Printed Electronics Manufacturing, which enables us to develop prototypes and produce small series of smart systems. Printed electronics encompass materials research, printing methods, electronic construction methods and production methodology, as well as several areas experiencing strong growth such as bioelectronics, soft electronics and biosensors, often with a focus on eco-friendly mass production.
