As Sweden’s population ages, our need for care increases. When medical technology products help patients to recover faster and they spend shorter time in hospital, the suffering of patients is reduced, and the healthcare system saves money. Medical technology products are used for diagnoses, care, and rehabilitation. They include everything from medical thermometers to large, sophisticated magnetic-field cameras. The EU’s new regulatory framework on medical and in-vitro diagnostic products is placing higher requirements on the industry.
