Purpose

The purpose of the test is to determine the window or exterior door's ability to resist air leakage.

Method

Den ackrediterade provningen utförs mot gällande standard EN 1026.

Two tests are carried out for air tightness by measuring at different pressure levels, one with positive pressure (overpressure) and one with negative pressure (underpressure). The results of the air measurements are calculated on both the total area of the product (m²) as well as on the total joint length of the product (m) and are defined as the average numerical value of the two air tightness levels (m³/h) at each pressure level.

Delivery

The results are reported in a written report that describes how the test object has performed against the applicable classification standard EN12207.

The report includes descriptions, relevant accompanying images and drawings.

The report can be used as a basis for a compiled ITT report and/or as a basis for the manufacturer's declaration of performance for CE marking.

Testing of external and internal doors

External and internal doors are tested at RISE in a number of different ways. Testing is carried out to partly to investigate how new construction types work and partly as quality assurance with respect to the manufacturer’s product range. Here at RISE we investigate how external and internal doors perform when subjected to different climate variables in the form of rain, wind and cold.

Testing of insulating glass units

RISE has extensive experience in the testing of insulating glass for P and CE marking. The test includes resistance to moisture ingress and measurement of gas content. We also carry out damage investigations on insulating windows of various kinds. Examples of properties that can be examined are gas content, contamination and condensation problems within cavities.

Thermally toughened, heat strengthened and/or laminated glass is used in a variety of applications to increase personal safety. Within RISE there is competence to evaluate and quality-assure the production process, carry out damage investigations and lead and participate in development and innovation projects in the field of glass.

Burglary and theft protection is more and more requred since society and sales demand protective products. RISE offers testning of a wide range of products and different classifications, for example doors, gates, blinds, windows, safes, locks and fittings.

Fire safety / Service

Testing of heat exhaust ventilators

Testing for wind load, air tightness and rain tightness is part of extensive testing of the fire ventilator aiming at certification. Other parts of RISE are tests for fire resistance, snow load, opening/closing test and vibration test.

Testing of conservatories

Now there is the possibility for manufacturers to P-mark the conservatories. The P label means that the conservatories not only meets the legal and / or regulatory requirements but also other requirements that the market demands. P-marking means type-test, a quality and self-inspection which is monitored by an independent third party, in this case RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.

Testing of industrial, garage doors and gates

CE marking is obligatory for industrial doors, garage doors and gates on the European market under the Construction Product Regulation. There is a requirement that certain tests must be carried out by an accredited testing laboratory. RISE has this accreditation for testing.
