Controlling hydrogen gas in aluminium melt

Reduced Pressure Test is used to measure hydrogen gas in aluminium melt. Hydrogen is the only gas soluble in aluminium and may at solidification precipitate as porosity in the cast component. Therefore the level of hydrogen in aluminium should be controlled.

Qualiflash - Analysis of fluidity in aluminium melt

Qualiflash® is an equipment that is used to provide a quality index for aluminium melts used for casting. It is important that an aluminium melt is as clean from oxides as possible in order to produce castings of high quality.

Measurement of porosity level in cast aluminium

When casting aluminium porosity might form in the component due to hydrogen, air or other defects in the material. Measurement of porosity level is an effective way of investigating the amount of porosity in cast aluminium.
