A world-leading cluster for the development and commercialization of biorefinery processes, green products, chemicals and materials
Our society is facing challenges that require new sustainable products and solutions. Part of that work is to switch from what is currently fossil-based to fossil-free products made from renewable resources.
Processum Biorefinery Cluster works to increase the pace of conversion to a bioeconomy and accelerate the development of new ideas and value chains within biorefinery. The cluster is based on 20 years of experience in industry-related research and development work in collaboration between existing industry members in the cluster and RISE.
With a long history of industrial symbiosis and collaborations with entire value chains, the cluster addresses actors, regionally, nationally and internationally, and works actively to create dynamics between participating actors. With its heart in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden is now gathering strength in the bioeconomy area.
Through our large network of contacts, we can bring together entrepreneurs with established businesses, social actors and academia. With RISE as the cluster engine, the cluster can take part in a number of research areas, test beds and demonstration environments. This means that we, together with our 3,000 colleagues, can answer, highlight and solve problems with the help of expertise from several different areas, and thus accelerate the innovation process.
