Xavier Weiss
Forskare
Xavier's research interests within power systems include - but are not necessarily limited to - resilience, data science, machine learning, forecasting, and cybersecurity. In his PhD thesis (available here: DIVA) he explored how Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) could be leveraged by Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in order to mitigate the impact of extreme events. This involved the development of an end-to-end resilience-enhancing process based on outage forecasting, intelligent decision support through reinforcement learning, and estimates of the susceptibility of a DSO to different types of extreme events.
Xavier completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the KTH Royal Technical Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to that he received his MSci in Physics and Computer Science at the University of Glasgow.
